Visitors, who enjoy the mysterious and remarkable subterranean world, can
explore the Vrhnika Cave, also known as the Žirovec Cave (only under
supervision of expert cavers). The
entrance is 2 kilometres away from the Ulovka Hill near Vrhnika and it barely
fits a human. The cave is 5 kilometres long, which was actually a surprise for the cavers. It is quite unique, because there are supposedly no longer
caves in dolomite. The cave is a network of 5 km of fantastic meanders
and canyons. The Vrhnika Cave was discovered in 2006 and has become the ten
thousandth explored cave in Slovenia.
