There are
two cycling routes in the hilly areas of Vrhnika countryside (K1 and K2),
suitable for experienced touristic bikers, who enjoy beautiful views and
adrenalin. Trekking or mountain bikes are recommended.
TIC Vrhnika is the starting and ending point of the circular biking route K2. The route leads
you to the Kuren Hill, where you can stop at the nice tourist farm. Don’t hesitate to visit the Church of St. Nicholas with its famous wooden ceiling and a rich
history. You continue ascending towards the lookout tower on the Planina Hill, one of the
tallest freestanding wooden structures in Slovenia. A steep but short descend
follows and the gravel road leads you to the Old Mill (Star maln). You only
have a few kilometres of delightful biking left along the Bela stream leading
you to Vrhnika. The 22 km long trail
leads along a partially gravel road.
The route takes 1 h and 30 min of semi-demanding biking.
