The Lavrenčič House is one of the oldest and most important
buildings in Vrhnika. It is situated on the bank of Ljubljanica river, where in 1790 a port was located. The Old Post Office with a toll station and an inn was built in the 15th century. In Valvasor's time, building had one floor
more than today and it was actually built by merging of two houses. In 1728 the Emperor Charles VI spent the night in
this building. In 1809 during the renovation one floor was removed.
